Accidental Death
Capital sum paid to your dependants if you die as a result of an accident - must occur within 12 months of the event.
Loss of Sight
Lump-sum for total loss of sight in one or both eyes as a direct result of an accidental injury.
Loss of Limb
Capital benefit for total loss of one or both limbs caused by accidental bodily injury.
Permanent Total Disablement
Full capital sum paid if an accident leaves you permanently and totally unable to engage in any occupation.
Permanent Partial Disablement
Benefit paid at a percentage of the capital sum based on the specific nature and severity of the impairment.
Temporary Total Disablement
Monthly benefit for up to 24 months while you are temporarily and totally disabled from your usual occupation due to an accident.
Medical Expenses
Reimbursement of medical, surgical, and hospital costs arising directly from a covered accident - in addition to any RTA-mandated cover.
Income protection when illness keeps you from work
The sickness section provides a weekly benefit for up to 24 months if you are temporarily and totally disabled from engaging in your usual occupation due to sickness or disease. Cover is restricted to Zambia and the age limit at inception is 16–55.
Note: Sickness occurring within 21 days of the commencement of the sickness section of cover is excluded. Conditions that existed prior to cover inception may also be excluded.
Temporary Total Disablement from Sickness
Weekly benefit for up to 24 months if you are temporarily and totally disabled from engaging in your usual occupation due to sickness or disease.

What is not covered
Standard exclusions apply to both the accident and sickness sections.
Alcohol or drugs
Claims arising while under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs are excluded.
Self-inflicted injury
Injuries or disease deliberately self-inflicted are excluded.
Pre-existing defects
Physical defects or infirmities that existed prior to the accident are excluded.
Aviation (non-fare-paying)
Flying other than as a fare-paying passenger on a fully licensed aircraft is excluded.
High-risk activities
Motor cycling (excluding as a policyholder on a declared motorcycle), polo, racing, winter sports, mountaineering - unless declared and an extra premium paid.
Pregnancy & childbirth
Childbirth, pregnancy, venereal disease, and AIDS are excluded.
War risks
War and related risks are excluded as standard.
Sickness within 21 days
Sickness occurring within 21 days of the commencement of the sickness section of cover is excluded.

An accident must arise from an identifiable cause and result in death or disablement independently of any other cause. There must also be proximity in time between the accident and the claimed event - for death, it must occur within 12 months of the accident.
